Novel by Edward Abbey
Considered a literary masterpiece since its first publication in 1975, The Wrench Gang is a scathing denunciation of the industrial world, a tribute to nature and a hymn to civil disobedience. A subversive book with unparalleled tragicomic verve. Sold two million copies since its publication, it is one of the 100 classics of the 20th century selected by Penguin.
Revolted by seeing the sumptuous Western desert disfigured by large industrial firms, four rebels decide to enter the fight against the “Machine”. Armed with simple wrenches and a few sticks of dynamite, they must confront the representatives of order and morality launched in pursuit of them. Then begins a long hunt in the desert.
